Who can join?
I am interested in just about any site concerning Missoula. That includes personal pages, ebay stores, church groups, art galleries, business sites, political campaigns, sports clubs, journals, photo galleries, news, and so forth. If the site has anything to do with Missoula, include a link. The only sites I am not interested in are pure advertising sites (network marketing, affiliate malls, etc.) Also, I am not interested in any hate sites, warez sites, or sites promoting illegal activities.
To add a site, simply navigate through the directory until you find the appropriate category then press the "Add Link" link. The program will have you enter your link's name, URL and description. The verification page verifies that the program can open your URL. After you press "Enter" on the verification page, your entry will be in the directory. NOTE, the site administrator reserves the right to move, remove or edit your entry.
The rules and method for adding calendar events is pretty much the same. Feel free to add any open community event to the calendar. Yes, that would include garage sales, church sponsored events, store sales. I am especially interested in events like gallery openings, plays, concerts, parades, sporting events and fairs. I am only interested in events that are open to the public and of immediate interest to people in Missoula. You can enter recurring events. The recurring event screen is a little weird. You can email me the details at kevind(at)missoula.ws
How We Pay for Bandwidth
Everything on the Internet is FREE!!! Yeah, get real. It costs money to make a decent, informative web site. And there is the cost of disk space and bandwidth. To pay for this site, we've included a small number of paying sponsors, and online bookstore. Some of these sponsors are not local, but have content that is of interest to Missoulans: like eBay. These sites are marked clearly as sponsors. Here is a complete list. The site, A Fountain of Bargains is an online mall that features the best shops on the Internet.
