Fast food restaurants have a history of serving low quality food. Fortunately some restaurants are improving their menus and a new genre of restaurant is serving fast casual food. These restaurants serve traditional or gourmet fare in a fast setting.

The fast casual restaurants make it difficult to categorize restaurants.
